Cybersecurity: A New Competitive Advantage for Sustainable Mobility

MUBIL and ZIUR recently hosted an event at MUBIL Center to examine the impact of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), the new European regulation that will establish cybersecurity requirements for connected products. The event brought together nearly 50 companies and industry stakeholders from the mobility and automotive sectors.

Entitled “The CRA in the Automotive Industry: From Regulatory Requirement to Competitive Advantage”, the session highlighted the importance of anticipating upcoming regulatory requirements in order to maintain competitiveness in the European market.

César Gutiérrez, General Manager of MUBIL, emphasized that “today’s mobility is evolving towards a connected, intelligent and sustainable model, but it must also be secure. The CRA requires cybersecurity to be integrated from the design stage, turning a regulatory obligation into an opportunity to innovate and strengthen the competitiveness of our industry.”

Juan Rico, Senior Manager of the Oniro and Cloud programmes at Eclipse Foundation, delivered a keynote presentation entitled “Beyond Code: How the CRA Redefines Software Responsibility and Resilience”. His presentation explored technical and practical aspects of the regulation that are particularly relevant for industrial companies, manufacturers, software developers and technology providers operating in the mobility sector.

The event also provided participants with real-world examples of how the new regulation is already affecting businesses and product development processes.

Through initiatives such as this, MUBIL continues to promote collaboration and knowledge-sharing among industry stakeholders, helping companies address the technological challenges that will shape the future of sustainable mobility.
