MUBIL highlights the importance of collaboration and applied innovation at the second day of MUBIL Mobility Expo
After an intense opening day, MUBIL continues to showcase the full potential of its ecosystem today at the MUBIL Mobility Expo, taking place at Ficoba.
The second day focuses on the tangible results emerging from collaboration between companies, start-ups, and other players within the MUBIL ecosystem. In this context, a range of projects developed in partnership with Basque stakeholders will be presented, many of which have been made possible, in part, thanks to support from initiatives such as the MUBIL Mobility Awards.
Today, the MUBIL stand will host the MUBIL Awards Collaboration Experience session, focused on fostering innovation and collaboration in the field of smart and sustainable mobility. The event will feature start-ups that have won recent editions of the MUBIL Mobility Awards, who will share their experiences working within the Basque ecosystem. Among them are ESEA Propulsion (2025 winner), NOVAC, and BATTBELT (first and second place in the 2024 edition), presenting projects developed in partnership with leading organisations such as TECNALIA, BATTERA, IKERLAN, and CIC energiGUNE. The session is primarily aimed at companies, investors, and technology developers interested in real-world examples of collaboration and the development of innovative solutions.
The day will also feature the MUBIL Hub Development Experience session, highlighting the collaborative work promoted by MUBIL to strengthen the mobility industry in the Basque Country. Hub companies such as BELCOR by ORKLI, EDERBATT, and MOOV-Drive will present their latest developments in areas including advanced materials, energy storage, and electric mobility. The session will also address the current state of cybersecurity in the Basque automotive sector, examining supply chain challenges and the impact of existing regulations. The day will conclude with a networking cocktail, fostering knowledge exchange and the creation of new collaboration opportunities.
Also featured is a roundtable organised in partnership with EIT Urban Mobility, where representatives from various European cities will present real-world cases of mobility solution implementation, discussing both successes and the challenges encountered during deployment.
In the afternoon, attention will turn to hydrogen-based mobility, with a dedicated session on cross-border cooperation in the Pyrenees as part of the European POCTEFA PHYRENE project, exploring opportunities for decarbonising road transport and developing regional hydrogen infrastructure.
The agenda will also feature parallel activities, such as the Basquenergy Cluster Electric Charging Forum, the General Assembly of the Direbús Coach Companies Association, and the 7th Meeting of the Mobility Vertical of BH2C.
Meanwhile, the Test Drive Zone will continue today from 10:00 to 16:00 with dynamic demonstrations, where companies and technology centres will showcase advanced solutions, including electric buses, autonomous vehicles, and industrial prototypes. In addition, universities and vocational training centres will exhibit their electric vehicle developments, offering an opportunity to discover local talent soon to join the industry.
