MUBIL and ZIUR host an event to discuss about the impact of new European regulations on the automotive sector

The event will address the latest regulatory challenges in cybersecurity and present an acceleration programme for industrial SMEs in Gipuzkoa.

ZIUR-MUBIL Event 2026

On June 18th, MUBIL and the Gipuzkoa Industrial Cybersecurity Centre (ZIUR), will host an event at the MUBIL Centre aimed at industrial companies and mobility industry stakeholders, who are interested in learning how the latest European cybersecurity regulations are transforming the automotive sector.

The enactment of the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and other European regulations represents a significant change in the development and marketing of connected products. In this new context, manufacturers, developers and industrial companies must adapt to new regulatory requirements that directly impact their processes, products and market access.

During the conference, real-world experiences of product and service assessment will be shared, with the goal of analysing the best strategies to deal with these regulatory demands and turn cybersecurity into a competitive advantage. Besides, the event will provide a unique opportunity to learn about the collaborative ecosystem currently taking shape in Gipuzkoa around industrial cybersecurity, including companies, technology centres and other stakeholders.

The event will be presented by María Penilla (Managing Director of the ZIUR Foundation) and César Gutiérrez (Managing Director of MUBIL). Juan Rico (Senior Manager of the Oniro and Cloud programmes at the Eclipse Foundation) will explore the impact of the Cyber Resilience Act, and a panel discussion featuring David Ramos (Loire Safe – Gestamp), Victor del Pozo (Fagor Ederbatt) and Jon Ander Agirretxu (ORBIK), moderated by Unai Cenigaonandia (PwC), will analyse the challenges and lessons within the mobility industry. The institutional opening and closing will be delivered by Unai Andueza, Deputy of Economic Development and Strategic Projects at Gipuzkoa Provincial Council.

Presentation of ZIUR’s new acceleration programme

The event will also serve to launch the new acceleration programme promoted by ZIUR: a free advisory and diagnostic service aimed at Gipuzkoan SMEs operating in connected industrial environments.

This initiative, with €3 million budget, aims to help companies anticipate European cybersecurity requirements and adapt their connected products and devices to the new regulatory framework.

Throughout the session, the key features of the programme and its value proposal for Gipuzkoa’s business community will be explained, offering companies tools to strengthen their competitiveness in an increasingly demanding market.

If your company operates in connected environments or wishes to anticipate the new European cybersecurity requirements, this event is an opportunity to learn first-hand about the key aspects of the new regulatory framework, discover real experiences from the industry, and connect with Gipuzkoa’s industrial and technological ecosystem. Sign up now and join MUBIL and ZIUR on 18 June at the MUBIL Centre.
